Listed here are two samples of custom poetry that I
was privileged to write for two honorable men that served our country as
police officers.
The following letter is from the
widow of Glenn Davis.

My husband, Glenn, and I have been married for 23 years.
Our
relationship was one that could not compare. We loved each other so very much.
Glenn was in Shands Hospital in Gainesville waiting for a new heart. After
years of service on the Police force in Jacksonville he had been forced to give
up what he loved due to his medical condition.
While he was in the
hospital, I took a little break and visited a local Craft show. While walking
around I noticed a booth of poetry. Me, being the sentimental fool that I am,
took a closer look. It was Christian poetry and very beautiful.
I
noticed a sign that said Lisa would customize a poem for you. With it being late
and I needed to get back to the hospital, I picked up her card and returned to
be by my husband's side.
Less than a week later, my husband's
complications became too great and he lost his battle to stay here on earth and wait
for a new heart. He's gone on now to be with the Lord. All the emotions
at this time were so great but somehow I remembered Lisa's poetry. I
needed to call her to see if she could prepare something in honor of my husband in
time for the funeral services.
I called Lisa and talked at length
with her (at that time Lisa was a total stranger to me). She was very
empathetic and listened carefully as I described my husband, our marriage, his police
career, our son, and our relationship with each other and God. Lisa
told me that she would have to pray about it and if it were meant to be, then God
would tell her what to write. A day before the services, Lisa sent
me the most beautiful poem that captured the essence of my husband.
He was
a wonderful, unique man and Lisa's poem helped make his service complete.
I would recommend Lisa to anyone who truly asks for God's will to be
done and wants an everlasting memory of someone "Special".

The following letter is from the
Mother of Scott Baird.
About Officer Scott Baird
Officer Baird was a member of the Gainesville Florida Police
Department. He was killed in the line of duty when some unknown subjects
placed a large batting cage in the middle of the road apparently as a
prank. Officer Baird was struck by a vehicle when he tried to remove it
from the roadway. He was a two-year veteran. This poem was dedicated to my
fellow Police Officer and his family.

Dear Lisa,
Hello, I wanted to let you know I received your letter on Saturday.
I think it is very nice that you want to put the poem on your website.
The
poem is so very touching and it means a lot to me that you want to remember Scott.
Please do whatever you need to do, I appreciate you asking me. I
would be very happy to write a testimonial.
It was very helpful to me that
you wrote a poem for him and everyone else that is a Police Officer. There is
so much truth in your writings. Please let me know if you need more, I don't
have a problem writing something separate.
I know he is greatly missed at
GPD, but I know he is there watching over all of you and protecting you. I
know God needed him but he is still with us and I know I will be with again one
day. I carry a copy of "John 14, 1-3 in my purse, it helps me. I
want to check out your website, I am sure it is beautiful.
Sincerely,
Kelly

The following letter is from
Jacqueline J. Walker.
February 26, 2002
I first met Lisa about two years ago at a craft fair here in Gainesville.
I
was immediately drawn to her display because of the beauty and variety of
her presentations of poetry- both framed and unframed. Not only does she
express insights from a scriptural base on many different heartfelt subjects, but
then she uses such beautiful paper to place her messages on. And, her
ability to work with people on so many different topics to achieve just the right
outcome for their need is helpful as well.
I was surprised to find her artistic writing for sale,
at the Family
Christian store when I started working there six months ago. Particularly,
her striking pieces about children, baptisms, and birth celebrations are
very appreciated by the guests of the store.
She is releasing very timely work
as well. Her renderings of heroes during the September 11, 2001 crisis,
prayers for America, and faithfulness of God truly touched and uplifted so many.
She is truly a sensitive and gifted artist with unusually perceptive and articulate ways of meeting people at so many crossroads, achievements and
events in their lives.
She has such a way of celebrating the Lord, and
people in her outstanding work. I have personally bought three pieces of her work
for others: Appreciation for Pastor, Wife of Pastor and thanksgiving for a
cell group leader. All three recipients were greatly blessed by the
sentiment as well as the way it brightens their homes. Her pricing is very
reasonable too. I always look forward to her new creations. She is a joy to know.
Sincerely,
Jacqueline J. Walker
